Visiting Kraków’s wonderful Wawel Cathedral, we again ponder the power of faith. We spend an emotional day at Auschwitz, learning of the country’s dark past, and an uplifting one touring Wrocław, a charming contemporary city. On reaching Warsaw, we celebrate the extraordinary transformation of a place once almost destroyed in war.

Polish Highlights Itinerary

  • Day 1

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Warsaw. On arrival, we transfer to the Novotel Warszawa Centrum (4T). Dinner is included this evening.

  • Day 2

This morning we make our way to Krakow where we stop for a visit at the Pauline Monastery of Jasna Gora in Czestochowa, the most important pilgrimage centre in Poland. As well as lunch, a guided visit is included. We arrive early evening at the Galaxy Krakow (4T) where we stay for the next four nights and where dinner is included this evening.

  • Day 3

After breakfast we have a short orientation tour of Krakow, with its marvellous collections of Gothic and Renaissance buildings mercifully left unscathed by the ravages of the war. The old part of the city is dominated by the imposing Wawel Castle and the Cathedral. In the afternoon we visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mine is renowned for its microclimate and the health-giving properties that resulted in an underground sanatorium being established to treat allergic diseases.

  • Day 4

Today is at leisure in Krakow. You can choose your own place in which to dine this evening.

  • Day 5

Today, we visit Auschwitz concentration camp, which has been designated as a monument to its victims and declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The outbuildings now form the museum, which contains artefacts belonging to those who perished. You also visit the extermination chambers and see the reconstructed furnaces of the crematoria. You are free for dinner tonight.

  • Day 6

We join our coach for the trip to Wroclaw through a mixed landscape of pasture, forests and arable land, before reaching this delightful city, regarded by many to be the cradle of the Polish state - for it was here that the Polanie tribe built their first settlement. Its medieval centre was badly destroyed at the end of the Second World War and has since been reconstructed in its original style. It is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful towns in Poland. On arrival you will be taken on a short walking tour of the Old Town. Our base for the next two nights is the Radisson Blu Wroclaw (4T). Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

  • Day 7

A day at leisure and time perhaps for shopping, sightseeing or just relaxing. You are free for dinner tonight.

  • Day 8

We spend the day journeying east to Warsaw (approximately 6 hours) with a stop for lunch. Having been reconstructed to its former glory, the town is now a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. We arrive at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum (4T), where we will stay for the next two nights. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

  • Day 9

This morning we have a guided orientation tour of this vibrant and exciting city. The afternoon is at leisure and the Royal Castle is well worth seeing, as is the Palace of Cultures and Science, with its views across the city. You may also wish to visit the Lazienki Palace, which is set in a lovely park with an open-air Greek theatre. Or you may wish to simply relax in one of the cafés or restaurants.

  • Day 10

Today we transfer to the airport for a flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
