Majesty of the Danube Itinerary
Day 1
Titan’s VIP door-to-door transfer service collects you from home for your flight to Munich. Upon arrival, transfer to Passau and embark MS Bellejour (4T), where light refreshments are available.
Day 2
A town built on the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz, Passau is warmly referred to as the ‘City of Three Rivers’. We’ll kick start the day with a city tour through the historic old town. We’ll wind past the baroque architecture and along the cobblestone streets leading up to the magnificent St Stephen’s Cathedral, home to the world’s largest cathedral organ.
Day 3
A city that combines its heritage with a healthy interest in the future, Linz is certainly a unique stop on our cruise. Take it all in with an optional walking or tour, or perhaps browse the most important collection of Austrian art history and folklore at Schlossmuseum.
Day 4
We arrive in the sleepy town of Melk, dominated by its grand Benedictine abbey, which we’ll discover together on an included excursion. This iconic monastery is home to a gold and marble-embellished church. We set sail to the pinch-me perfect town of Dürnstein early this afternoon. This town has an enviable positioning sitting on the curve of the Danube. In the distance, you’ll spot the chilling remains of the castle which once held Richard the Lionheart ransom. You’ll have the option to join us on our orientation and wine tasting tour today.
Day 5
Rich with culture, beautiful arts and world-renowned music, Vienna is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Mozart, Brahms and Schubert all called this opulent city home - and you’ll discover their inspiration as you wander the squares and streets as part of our included tour. Together, we’ll view fine baroque churches, palaces and concert halls. Back on board this afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the waltz. This evening brings a special opportunity to watch a classical music concert at one of the impressive palaces in the city.
Day 6
Today, we dock in Slovakia. You might choose to join us on an excursion into Bratislava on the tourist train. Wind through the charming old town and past the dominating Bratislava Castle (Hrad) - where 11 kings and 8 queens were crowned. After, take a wander for yourself - the old town is a perfectly walkable size.
Day 7
We glide into beautiful Budapest this morning. The city straddles the Danube, with hilly, historic Buda on the west bank and lively Pest on the east. Our included tour shines the spotlight on the city’s top sights, including the riverside Parliament Building with its iconic Gothic dome. The remainder of the day is yours to explore.
Day 8
We transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
